Patal Bhuvaneshwar is an extraordinary place that is positioned in the state of Uttarkand. It is placed in the Pithorgarh district in the Kumaon area. The place has a complex system of caves that are placed in the village of Bhuvaneshwar. The complete system is complex and one can observe lots of caves within caves in the place. These limestone caves are totally lit up using electric bulbs and they are generally safe. There are lots of stalagmites and stalactites that can be seeing in these caves and walking through these can be a magnificent experience. The total network of caves has not yet been travel around and there are lots of small passageways that can be set up here.
Patal Bhuvaneshwar temple was built in 12th Century by the rulers of Katyuri and Chand dyansties. According to legends it is believed that King Rituparna of the Sun dynasty revealed this cave in Treta Yug as described in Skand Puarana under Manas Khand. According to beliefs some doors wereb open thousands of years ago which are closed now. It is also supposed that this cave is connected to Char Dhams internally. This cave was visited by Adi Shakracharya in 1191 A.D. and the journey to the modern pilgrimage history got started at Patal Bhuvaneshar.
